Making a Splash at Water Country USA!
This past summer, we made our glorious return Water Country USA, the companion water park to Busch Gardens Williamsburg. We were pleasantly surprised by our first visit in 2022 and (mostly) enjoyed the water-based attractions that the park had to offer. Since it has now been a few years, we wanted to start our day by checking out any park updates and taking some time to do a full walking tour.
Just like with our previous visit, we opted for the lounger package. This upgrade provides the guest with two reserved lounging chairs at one of two park areas, the Surfer’s Bay wave pool or Hubba Hubba Highway. Since we enjoyed Hubba Hubba Highway so much last time we decided to stick with this area, the only rub being that it is way in the back of the park. Once you get to your designated lounger area, a helpful team member will check you in and give you a key for your locker which is also included in your package. This locker is quite large and can fit plenty of towels and clothes or any valuables you do not want out in the open. The lounger package also includes a voucher for a beverage and entrée at any dining location in the park.
Another upgrade we opted for this time around was Quick Queue, Water Country’s “skip the line” add-on. One thing we noticed during our first visit was that many queue lines did not have shade or relief from the sun, so this time around, we wanted to minimize our time waiting in lines to get through as many attractions as possible while also avoiding prolonged sun exposure. There are different tiers for Quick Queue access, and we choose the tier that gave us one-time use on Big Daddy Falls and Colossal Curl with unlimited access to many other attractions like Aquazoid Amped.
Over the course of the day, we experienced many “new to us” attractions including Colossal Curl (Tim had BIG feelings about this one), the All-NEW Riptide Racer, Malibu Pipeline, and the newly-updated Nitro Racers: Supercharged. We also made time to walk around and take in the new Lil’ Surfers Splash Pad as well as other kids/family areas. This water park has a lot to offer guests of all ages and dispositions and we think it is an excellent way to spend a hot summer’s day in Williamsburg.
Note that filming with secure action cameras is permitted on most attractions, so our vlog does feature POVs and reaction footage. Most slides have clear signage that specifies what kind of camera and or mount is permitted. Be sure to check out the vlog for our real-time reactions and see all that Water Country has to offer!
